How has life shaped me as a coach ?
Sports
… is fun for me, pushes me to my limits, even to one’s weaker self, and can release new energy
Just like training in sports, my coaching highlights physical, mental, and systemic routines that have an impact when practiced and applied regularly.
A sports coach (=trainer) doesn't score goals; only a player can do that. The coachee is decisive for success in coaching.
Two daughters
Independent, self-determined, self-confident.
As a father, I have encouraged and fostered these qualities in Julia and Natalia.
Both went abroad for their studies at the age of 17 and now work as a neuroscientist and a psychotherapist, respectively.
For my understanding of coaching, this means:
the coachee decides how many sessions take place at what intervals and when the coaching goal is achieved.
Energy
Since my school days, I have been fascinated by energy technology, the necessary transformation of energy systems, and their societal significance – more so today than ever.
For many people (including myself), personal energy management, the efficiency of effort to outcome, and entropy (i.e. inevitable losses) are helpful guiding principles in everyday work and life. In coaching, we can work with many illustrative analogies, and I serve as an energy source - when needed.
